Children are so innocent and simple minded. If you treat them nicely, they will treat you nicely too. & they see things visually.
Just came home from mentoring session. It was a lot of fun. When we were playing the icebreaking game; Good Afternoon game, a girl, i think her name was Inka if i'm not wrong, said to me " You very pretty leh, i like you" Then i was thinking "Erm whaaat? What has being pretty got to do with liking someone?" But i just laughed and said "You're pretty too" Thats the first thing i learnt from them. They are very straightforward.
Its like, besides kids like her who would say "You're pretty leh, i like you", who else would be so direct to anyone? Haha !
I was quite surprised by how naughty the boys were. They were wandering around and don't sit and listen to instructions, and even interrupts. But i guess that's what boys their age do. It was abit obvious that i was stunned by their naughty behaviour. Point taken, need alot of getting used to.
Thn towards the end i was sitting next to this girl named Nani. And woah she sure scared me when she suddenly poked me at the side of my stomach. and she was too playful so she didnt stop despite me asking her to, i even "catched" her hands to prevent her from poking me, but she still continued to when i released her hands! Thn i tried to stand up and leave her (because i rly very scared of the poking wad D:) but she pulled me back straight away! That shocked me even more. She pulled me back 2 times i tried to leave.
Wah i understand how she feel by wanting to play with me and all, but i couldn't handle the "physical" stuff. First time someone poked me so much despite me showing that i cannot take it ~ D: It was unexpected, that the kids would actually go "physical" with me. ><
I dun rly know how to handle the physical stuff lah. Tried to ask her to stop nicely, failed. Tried to threaten her that if she continued, i wont sit w her anymore, failed. Tried to leave, FAILED! Tried to play back, Success. but she not scared of poking so if i continue so disadvantaged >< ><
I must really learn how to cope with that already. Girl physical with me still not so bad, if the boys do that, wah cannot already.
But overall today's mentoring execution was a success ! Had so much fun with them :D Team ALPHA rocks ! Everyone's so cooperative and nice ^^
Oh and i got my ezlink card back thankfully, but i'm still sick sadly): Look forward to next mentoring session. :)
